背景 Background：

「冇字節」始於2000年，因一名學障學童而創立。當時，由於社會普遍對學障缺乏認識，學童每天都為功課及考試而爭扎，當時的父母，為了讓學障子女有一個喘息的空間，以及令大眾人士提昇對學障的認識，因此創立了第一屆「冇字節」。自始，「冇字節」演變成一個兩年一度的節日，讓學障學童可以與家人及好朋友開開心心渡過一天快樂的時光。

Wordless Gala was found by a dyslexic child and first started in 2000.While at that time, there was lack of understanding about dyslexia in society.Children with dyslexia had to struggle with their homework and examination every day without any support.So the first Wordless Gala was organized to “give a break” to dyslexic children and arouse public concern about dyslexia in Hong Kong.The event is organized every two years and becomes a tradition for dyslexic children to celebrate a day without words with their families and friends.

目的 Objectives：

「2007冇字節慈善步行暨嘉年華」希望：
給予學障學童一個驚喜快樂的時光；
加強公眾對學障的認識，建立和諧納的社會；
以及為協會籌募經費。

The event tries to achieve three main objectives:
to provide a happy and amazing moment of time for SLD children;
to promote public understanding of SLD and social harmony;
to raise fund for association to develop new services and help SLD children and their families.
